Wedding Succulents
I've always wanted to have an outside wedding. Luckily, my wish will come true this summer as I'm getting married at an arboretum. Everything should go well as long as it doesn't rain. Let's all do anti-rain dances!
As my mom and I were planning the reception, I realized my love for Alice in Wonderland would fit well with my outside wedding. There are a lot of adventures in Wonderland, especially with tea and garden parties. Mom and I decided that it would be better to have the reception inside, so we don't have to worry about food spoiling or the heat of the afternoon. So, by deciding on the garden party theme, we can bring nature indoors.
Last weekend Lucas went with his mom to look at our wedding succulents at Taylor's Market & Garden Center. We picked out a variety of succulents for our wedding reception. We are getting married in June, so we had to make sure we picked them out early. Succulents tend to be bought fast in the spring!
Right now Lucas and I plan on potting the succulents in teacups and glass jelly jars, so we have a variety of pots in shapes and sizes. The goal is to decorate the guest tables with the succulents to create a garden party vibe.
I like the weird looking succulents the best, so I told Lucas to make sure we have different types. Overall, I think he did a great job finding a good selection. In May we will pot the succulents in the teacups, so make sure to watch for the next wedding succulent blog post! In the meantime, enjoy the succulent video below.
